Digos City holds pet expo

(Digos City) (August 14, 2015) — Pet lovers of Digos City unite!

The Digos Veterinary Clinic and Supply, with its head, RTN Dr. Emmylou Makiputin, spearheaded Digos City’s 1st Pet expo at the Gaisano Grand Mall Atrium last August 14, 2015. The event began with a motorcade around the city and started at 9AM. The event hosted a sumptuous lunch for special guests and the judges. The project was a collaboration with the Rotary Club of South Digos led by President Teodorico “Jojo” Dofiles, Davao Veterinary Private Practioner Association (DAVEPPA), Philippine veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) and Davao del Sur’s veterinary office.

Hundreds of participants, guests and visitors lined up the expo with their favorite pets. During the show, multiple dog breeds such as pitbulls, huskies and german shepherds were well represented and other exotic animals such as snakes, roosters and cockatoos were present as pet owners took the opportunity to show off for the event. Along for the ride was the Provincial Veterinarian Office of Davao del Sur which conducted free rabies shots for the first 200 dogs and cats with free deworming. Lucky participants were given free give-aways such as vitamins, food supplements, umbrellas and t-shirts. Participants were also awarded on-stage with certificates.

The organizers would like to thank the following organizations and individuals for sponsoring the event: Avenue One Hotel, Engr Sorongon, Atty. Herme Marasigan, Merial, Apt Vet, Vitality, Dok Alternatibo, Mayor Penas, BMEG, San Miguel Corporation, Nature Spring, de Leon Pawnshop and Gaisano Grand Mall Digos.
