Ayn Rand reviews Heneral Luna:

A brilliantly crafted cautionary tale for sophisticated tribalists and irrational collectivists. An unapologetic and barbaric useful idiot sets aside Reason and self-interest only to be righteously exploited. His rejection of objective reality and self-immolation runs its logical course as he is devoured by the envy of his lessers.

The true heroes of the film are the unashamedly ambitious and entrepreneurial Buencamino and Paterno. Director Tarrog should have shown how the two proto-Capitalists brought Civilization to a semi-free and superstitious country such as ours.

~Two stars.
